On a good floor, nobody re-specifies a piece from memory at each station. The spec travels with the work. AI series drift for the opposite reason: the character was re-described at every job, and memory edits as it goes. Write her down once, on a line card you paste rather than retype.
Five fixed lines, always in order
Age — a number, and on this floor a mature one. Hair — colour, length and one habitual style. Build — two or three words. Face — one or two details that endure every crop. Signature — the ring, the mark, the detail that survives a tight frame. Everything else belongs to the changing line: outfit, station, hour, light. Changing lines are meant to change. Spec lines are not.
State lines plainly and positively; adjectives are reinterpreted at every station. Version the card when she is deliberately changed, with a date, so an old run can be reproduced exactly.
Working the line
Pair the card with changing lines that share one setting and one light, produce at the standard 6-credit cost, and inspect before anything moves on. Keep the best third. Repairs, transfers and upscales are late stations — spend there only on pieces that passed inspection early.
What a spec cannot do
It cannot hold a character who was never decided. Decide her on paper first; the line card is where the decision travels from.
